Grilled Shrimp Recipes For a Seafood Favorite

Shrimp is America's favorite seafood, and good grilled shrimp recipes are a must for any outdoor cook. Shrimp is very easy to grill because the actual cooking is so quick. Once it hits the grill, shrimp is "done" and delicious in a matter of seconds.

These simple grilled shrimp recipes make a simple and quick seafood main dish good for any day of the week.

Here's a recipe that adds a Mexican touch to your grilled shrimp. It's so quick and easy that it's good for most any night.

Grilled Margarita Shrimp (makes 4 skewers)

INGREDIENTS:
1 pound medium deveined and shelled shrimp
3 tablespoons of olive oil
2 large cloves of minced garlic
2 tablespoons of tequila
1 tablespoon of lime juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
3 tablespoons of chopped cilantro

DIRECTIONS:
Put olive oil, garlic, tequila, lime juice, salt, red pepper, and cilantro into a glass mixing bowl. Whisk together until combined. Add the shrimp to the marinade and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Slide shrimp onto skewers. Grill shrimp over medium flames for about 2 minutes, or until pink. Take shrimp scewers off the grill. Do not over cook.


And now, here's a little Cajun shrimp action.

Cajun Grilled Shrimp

Frozen shelled and deveined shrimp are a great time-saver; just thaw and cook them.

INGREDIENTS:
3 green onions, minced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1-1/2 pounds deveined peeled shrimp, with tails left on
Lemon wedges
DIRECTIONS:
Combine onions, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, salt and peppers glass mixing bowl; stir in oil. Add shrimp; turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate at least 15 minutes. Slide shrimp onto metal skewers. (Soak wooden skewers in hot water 30 minutes to prevent burning.) Grill shrimp over medium flames about 2 minutes per side until just pink. Serve with lemon wedges.
